Category totals reflect the source’s own record and classification model. They should not be silently compared with another city’s local labels.
READ BEFORE USING
What these numbers mean.
This dashboard reads an official public police dataset and checks it hourly. Records can change as reports are reviewed, corrected, added, or removed.
Records, geography & refresh
Record model. Each row is a public crime-incident record. The category lenses group exact Ohio statute descriptions by visible keywords; rows without a supported description remain in the all-record total.
Map geography. The map uses five official Cleveland Police District polygons and the District field carried in the current crime layer. Not-located and unmatched records remain citywide.
Refresh. The official P1RMS layer is checked hourly. The page filters OffenseYear to the current year and shows the latest offense date returned.
Interpretation. A police record is not a conviction, and a raw count is not a population-adjusted crime rate. Use the map to examine patterns inside one consistent source.
